She was introduced in the '95 Go-Bots toyline and her most notable story appearance was in the Wings Universe. The story where she struggles with being a clone sounds interesting!

It's notable how, supposedly, Orin should have enjoyed working on the masochist, but he didn't. It's because inflicting pain on the masochist didn't provide the rush of power and control he wanted. After throwing the sadist out, he rushed to reestablish power over his next patient, Seymour.

Orin beat Audrey and Audrey took it because he made money plus she felt worthless as a woman that sometimes did sex work.
And then Audrey II took advantage of Seymour and Seymour took it because he was a poor young man who had nothing.

I watched Little Shop of Horrors (the Rick Moranis one) for the first time in over a decade. I did not remember how blatant the theme of how the powerful abuse the desperate and the hopeless was.
Mushnik took advantage of Seymour and Seymour took it because he'd been an orphan and felt in debt.

Daily female #Transformers! Night Dancer! She's a skilled warrior who prefers to keep to herself. She was introduced for Transformers Online and is mentioned in an Ask Vector Prime segment. That's some interesting kibble!

TFA's slavish devotion to the idea that "Autobots don't fly" is one of the sillier concepts that I just can't take seriously at all. Powerglide turning into a tank is silly. Cosmos turning into a buggy is silly.
And, like... Why wouldn't developing flight be a higher priority?

the Marvel comics (although in the Legends World comics, he is written as an alt version of Minerva). I like this female TFA design.

Some days, I really wish I could remove almost all of 2005 IDW Transformers from my brain because remembering most of it actually makes me kinda miserable.

I try to give novels more time, but the first "chase" scene in The Thousand Deaths of Ardor Benn just killed my interest in the book. Like, it was mostly the title character and his buddy bantering with occasional reminders they were being shot at as they're being chased. I quit an 1hr into the 25.

Daily female #Transformers! The Mistress of Flame. She's a firm leader willing to do what she can to influence others. She was introduced in the 2005 IDW series and the Prime Wars trilogy then has been referenced in Cyberverse. Man, Prime Wars did her dirty.

If I were to be asked about *low maintenance* guard dogs, three breeds that would NOT come to mind are Doberman Pinschers, Rhodesian Ridgebacks, and Belgian Malinois.
Who in their right mind thinks a Maligator is "low maintenance"?! That breed is a full-time job!

Daily female #Transformers! Mercury! She's a Mutacon leader and makes no effort to hide her moods, especially if she thinks something is funny. She is in the Covenant of Primus story from Aligned continuity. Honestly, she sounds like a really fun character that I'd like to see more of! [No image]

Daily female #Transformers! Kari! She's a scientist and can be passive aggressive. She was first introduced in the Marvel comics as an organic character, but she appears as a Transformer in Beast Wars Uprising and in the Transformers TTRPG. I'd like to see what her robot appearance was looks like.

Also, I'm pretty sure no one has really retconned the Morlock massacre? Madelyne Pryor? All the stuff with Cable?? Why did anyone trust this dude???

At least Sabretooth was a small potatoes guy, largely content with being petty.

Mr. Sinister is the main reason I couldn't take the Krakoa stuff in X-Men seriously. Like, we know what he was doing during WWII. Is this really the guy we're going to do the mutant solidarity thing with and allow in a position of leadership? Really? Surely there was someone with *standards*.

I never personally saw the appeal or need to give Beast Wars characters more standard vehicle alt modes. Like, oh goodie, another car, truck, or jet! A motorcycle, if we're feeling spicy! Because, you know, that's what Transformers needs--more cars, trucks, or jets.

I do believe artist Nick Roche has said this is why he stopped working with writer James Roberts on Transformers--he wrote lots of panels with tons of details. Which is super rough considering how detailed just the robot designs were. (Though they are still friends, last I heard.)

Certainly G1 wasn't perfect in the way it wrote women, but it's actually fairly decent for an 80s boy cartoon. Most non-robot women (human or alien) are either scientists or rebel leaders or political figures. Every named female robot is an active warrior and even quite a few that weren't named.

Sometimes people say things about the G1 Transformers cartoon that makes it obvious they haven't watched much of it, if any. Not in a "Oh, G1 is perfect!" way, but a "that never happened" way. Like I've seen "the women in G1 are all femme fatales or damsels in distress". You mistook TFA for G1
