When in the woods, best beware of dead man's fingers lurking there.
Reaching up above the ground, a creepy fungi to be found.
Happy Halloween everyone.

A preserved carved turnip jack o'lantern from the 19th century
A reminder that the original Hallowe'en jack o' lanterns date back to 18th century Ireland if not earlier, were based on a shady boozy blacksmith called Stingy Jack who cheated the devil & was trapped between 2 worlds, were carved from turnips and looked like this:

Heading into winter, I'm reminded today how sustaining good work relationships are. Might just be the few minutes of chat before or after a meeting. Someone asking you about family, or remembering what's been going on for you. Making the time for a cuppa. Little moments of care that matter so much.

AI doesnβt diminish the value of the humanities; it amplifies their urgency.
After three days spent with AI researchers from around the world, one thing is very clear to me: we need the humanities and social sciences more than ever.
We need philosophers to ask about ethics and responsibility. We need sociologists to understand how technology reshapes relationships, 1/

27.10.2025 18:35 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0ahh! a small fluffy ghost sits on a hardwood floor staring directly at us. but actually... the longer we take it in, the more cute the ghost becomes. one could even mistake this little guy for a golden retriever puppy wearing a sheet with eye, ear, and mouth holes cut out of it. even though he gave us a fright, we would still pet this ghost puppy.
My goodness. Please donβt send in ghosts. They are very frightening. We only rate dogs. Thank you... 12/10 (IG: theodore.goldenvelt)
