I am in recovery today after working from 5:30 am til about 9:15 pm when delivered ballot boxes to election central. The return location was out by IAH way out at the edge of the county. Was after 10 pm by time I hot home. 🥱

Upside was that 3 of my election clerks were newbies — a 16 yr old high school student and 2 20-somethings who train astronauts how to do EVAs.

Yesterday’s turnout at my polling place was slightly better than I expected. We voted 11 people instead of my predicted 8 to 10. Not really surprising since we were in a very urban location for very suburban elections.

I expect this will be a low turnout at my very urban polling place since mostly it is those in the suburban areas that have something on the ballot. Rather than just sit around when things are slow, I ‘ll be postcarding newly registered young women thanking them for registering to vote.
