I'm beginning my day with a small and wonderfully bloody piece of steak, contemplating my imminent victories.
They say the best revenge is living well. I prefer living well *and* seeing my enemy's head on a spike. Why not both? ❤

This is poking my brain in a nice way.

I really must regain control of my attention.
Some of the distraction is nice, but most of it is awful and there's shit to get done.

The crows got some salmon skin this chilly morning. Got to spend a little time in the garden with Bertie supervising before heading in for more tech. Mandrakes are happy (one is even blooming.)

Though the blade on my altar is steel I forged myself and with which I have a deep and living connection, I am tempted to switch it for the time being with a Fairbairn-Sykes dagger. One that was gifted to me and which I also treasure, albeit for different reasons.

No frog patrol again this week. Too cold and dry. It's normal for most weeks in January to be too cold &/or dry for frog shuttle shifts. In not too much longer we'll be down at the river helping them make the trek across Hwy 30 back up into the west hills.

I was so happy to see an exhibit of Rick Bartow's work at PAM. I'll be visiting them again, especially the *inhabited* ones. His work is amazing, and I love it so much that I will get on a near stranger's thread to crow about it. So. Good.

Interesting. Repairing a garment by replacing the zipper will be much more difficult, if not doable on these clothes with this mechanism, though. And I don't like that very much. In that light, it actually increases waste because the whole garment will likely be discarded.

Frog patrol's first night of the season last night, we moved 135 northern red-legged frogs (Rana aurora), 44 of whom were females. 55-58*F and raining. Perfection. Here are a few of the little beauties we moved:
