I have a ticket for Tractorbeam next week in NYC and can’t make it. Anyone interested? Face no fees.

Do you do the hand gestures? I begrudgingly add that when cajoled into it by certain periods that are at least endearing.

Anything is better than skibidy. My kids are also doing the β€œgirl girl” thing with their hands and repeating the phrase. the snapping like they are packing a can on Skoal.

How can a song sound so uplifting and be so depressing all at once? It’s like Idiot Wind but regretful instead of infuriated.

Steve Silberman is so pissed about this Tylenol bullshit that he's screaming from the afterlife he didn't even believe in.

Increased rates of autism are due to testing, a broadened definition, and greater awareness. It's not vaccines. It's not Tylenol.

It's like his work never happened.

I have a few tidbits I wrote in that edition when I was a teenager. (excuse the humblebrag). Top ten tapes and some reviews. It was a fun thing to be a part of back then. Mine has long since lost its cover. Thanks to Andy and Larry!

Hopped up with energy and firing away, the #GratefulDead stormed Rochester on this day in '79. Jerry is on fire from the get-go Half Step> Franklin's, but the crown jewel of this show is definitely the 30 massive, ferocious and percussive minutes of Scarlet >Fire

36 years ago, Jimmy Cliff joined the Jerry Garcia Band to sing The Harder They Come. I can only imagine this was a special night at the Greek.

Nice performance by Mclean. I agree, but either does hitting with RISP. 14th in the league there, but we seem worse. We have a lineup full of guys who are streak hitters. While I understand that batting avg does not tell the whole story, it’s damning that Marte has the highest average at 279

I feel you. The Mets do that, too. That was DeGrom’s entire career as a Met. This year, we do both. Not score and get shelled or score and the pitching blows it. We have one guy on our team hitting 275 or higher.

The Mets can blow any game. Our opponents are never out of it.

"Your job in this class is to become a better reader, writer, and thinker. Look around these days. We need more of you! To do this, you’re going to have to read, write, think, and talk . . . a lot. And my job in this class is to provide you with the information, support, and feedback to help you meet that goal. And guess what else? Writing is one of the most deeply human things you can do. It’s meaningful. It matters. I care less about your writing being β€œperfect” than about it coming from you, with your voice, using evidence you find compelling.

Because of all this, the use of any AI tool (including Grammarly, sorry!) to produce any written work in this class is not permitted and will result in a score of 0 on the assignment.

Here’s the deal: AI doesn’t generate. It doesn’t build. It doesn’t edify what we’re out here doing as human beings. It scrapes together what’s already there and pulls it together in a boring and formulaic way. It steals ideas, art, and phrases from real human people without proper citation. It outsources thinking and pollutes our planet. So we’re just not going to use it.

I know this sounds a little scary, but this policy should encourage you to be the vibrant, curious, and badass thinker I absolutely know you are."

took a stab at a first draft of a new AI policy for my classes this year (heavily leaning on @heymrsbond.com and @williamfleitch.bsky.social)

Parisi’s Ave by the houses; on the other side of the fence? I usually park just inside the fence, but I think last time it may have taken awhile. Any info is appreciated for tonight and my 2 hour drive post-show
