Every morning, Mol'-luk went off to hunt, and every evening, he came back to roost on a large rock on the east side of the mountain. One morning, he noticed that something was the matter with the rock but did not know what the trouble was or what to do for it. So he went off to consult the doctors.

Mol'-luk, the California Condor, son of O-let'-te, the Coyote-Man.
There was a huge vulture whose name was Mol'-luk, the Condor. He was the son of O-let'-te, the Coyote-Man. His home was on the mountain called Oo-yum-bel'-le, from which he could look out over the world, across the bay and beyond to the ocean, and to the east to the tules, and the great valley.

Coyote emerging from the ocean.
O-le'-te, the Coyote-Man, emerged from the fog-covered ocean. There was no land yet, so O-le'-te sent a diving turtle down to bring up mud from the bottom of the ocean. O-le'-te mixed the mud with water and seeds and created the land. This is why O-let'-te, the Coyote-Man, was called the Creator.
