I have a glut of cucumbers and not a scooby what to do with them. Have already made litres of raita. Last year I did some in a Vietnamese pickle, but that was a right faff.

We pulled shallots out of the ground this afternoon, so I fried some up with pancetta and stirred them through a quick macaroni cheese. Baked a focaccia on the side, dotted with tomatoes from the greenhouse and rosemary from the bottom of the garden. Lashings of olive oil. And now a food coma.
