POTUS can “fire” and remove generals, but he cannot courts-martial them. That is a decision for the military justice system and, ultimately, Congress.

I think the Dems should all just say up front they won’t vote to confirm (for the obvious reasons) and not ask any questions at Gaetz’s hearing. Don’t save the GOP… make them clean up their own mess.
