Also a Black Rebel Motorcycle set, a Thou set, and Tom did an Oasis song earlier.

I may have been at several wrong shows instead

I’m willing to accept it, but if that doesn’t work I’ll never accept Cubs support in my life ever again

I conclude only my fourth day of not being at live music within 24 days.

I do not need a particular creative team to dominate the global capitalist market for entertainment.

There is also more to music than a specific streaming service’s marketshare.

As a fella with a hibernating project called Birthday Cookie, my mind went in *several* directions at “birthday band”

Prior show plans are always ideal as alternatives, because that means the person planned tickets to see music.

As opposed to say, streaming television

Yeah, that was my one non-jazz show I was considering tonight.

Finally seeing Pile last night really diffused a lot of remaining angst about it as well.

Ultimately: the thing about playing solo for now is that I’ve gotta whip myself into practicing (oop!) for shows

Yeah, I might reconsider if an opportunity ever occurred again when there’s more $ on hand. I’ve done right by younger me with a lot of other bands though (and still am), so if this is it I accept.

Got it, ready to get the bail $ together just in case

As a bonus, you get to hang out with ME if you’re there.

*While I enjoyed Oasis predominantly when I was a teen, I was already quietly obsessing over the music that would be more formative

I’d like to think that younger me would understand me not subjecting myself to traffic and transit to go to a show on an evening when Oasis* is in town

He’d at least appreciate me spending time with my own music tools, though

I have the distinct pleasure of having a rich life in which I can have social, not parasocial, relationships with music/musicians when I so choose.

It takes effort and being more specific than broad corporate ad campaigns, of going beyond a narrow definition of what is “for me” until that grows.

Hey, regardless of party: If you vote for a president’s kid for a future president, I reserve the right to not take you seriously on pretty much anything forwards and backwards in time

Just for the record: On a non-emergency basis (because I do try to live a life), I am happy to discuss actual medical care.

Politicians who want to peddle conspiracy theories are just that, especially when they want to devalue the relevance of expertise.

Sure would have been great if hospitals were already upheld to be a no-go as targets for conflict.

Healthcare has bias problems as it is. We’re not doing the best job of it, but the overall push is toward reducing and combating bias.

VA or anywhere, anything increasing bias is a bad idea across the board.

Overcompliance will result from this. People will assuredly suffer as a consequence.

I see a lot of people for healthcare. They range across all political affiliations. If you aren’t new to me, you know that isn’t a surprise.

That is because I’m not refusing service for any non-medical reason. As it should be.

Just for the record: Illinois banned book bans a couple of years ago.

There’s a real effort to do so for medical equipment such as masks. It has a real shot, but is hardly guaranteed just yet.

A fun thing is that we (in the United States) have the capacity to support our people regardless of their ability to contribute work and subsequent taxes, and that living with more support needs is not an inherent “tragedy.”

The “tragedy,” nay cruelty, is removing those supports.
