If you can get donors to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to build you a golden ballroom, it seems that if you were a better human, you could get donors to make sure that kids didn’t starve, or even just make sure they had school supplies. Or that insulin was free.

Shouldn't it be bigger news that the U.S. President is straight lying to the American people? Not only about Medicaid and Medicare, but flatly about not increasing the Federal Deficit? Saying this will reduce it when it actually adds 4 trillion dollars is villain shit. Where is the press?

It’s been a while since I’ve posted anything fun. I’ve been heads down working hard on a new project as the world burns around me… But, here is a concept sketch from really early in the ideation phase. The story has shifted quite a bit so I can share. Can’t wait to show you more soon! 🎮🤔

What a time to be pitching a new game. The industry is falling apart, which is scary and daunting, and all of the expected things. But, it is also the best time to propose change. Not change for change's sake, or shiny false promises... but real change based on years of experience making stuff. 💪🎮

This may sound simple, but make sure to stay hydrated at all times. Dehydration is a HUGE trigger for me. I've gotten to a point that when I first feel ANY signs of a migraine, I pop ibuprofen and CHUG water (even if I am not thirsty), and it at least softens the blow.

As an old man who loves ice cream, the real drama is when ice cream starts to not like YOU. Still, I persist.

Worth bearing in mind that illegal entry is a misdemeanor and being unlawfully present in the country is not even a criminal offense, but a civil one. This is the equivalent of saying we need to torch the Constitution & send in the SWAT team to catch jaywalkers & people with overdue library books.

I guess it’s just sexier to think that games are some creative genius’s dream that has spilled out into reality for you to play, vs many hard working people combining various abilities and dreams to defy odds and turn a flimsy idea into something that is real and functional and fun. 🎮

This is every lunch conversation with game developers. “Ok, ok. What if it was a game about running an ice cream shop in the middle of a small town populated by whales, but the ice cream was actually emotions and the whales sang songs depending on what they ordered?!”

Also, knowing how our industry generally works, teams are going to be ground to bits as execs of various-sized studios force this model through the big machine and expect gold to come out of the pipe, thus destroying the magic particles that mysteriously formed and made it work in the first place.

I am so happy for this team, but we really have to stop taking these projects that successfully come together thanks to a million variables, and treat them as the new blueprint for $$$. As someone who's been doing this for a long time, I can tell you that accidents, timing, and luck play a big role.
