I believe you'll find it's not science when you're trying to establish the truth of some particular claim. Science is only when you randomly throw together an experiment for no clear reason, and then wait for Truth to fall out - a thing which is desirable, possible, and will definitely get funding.

The decades of, "you need to go into STEM/business to get a job," and, "what are you going to do with a humanities degree?" nonsense that were in no way backed up by employment or income data and completely unchallenged by university higher-ups have done immeasurable damage.
