The BLS does the same thing. They release a timely estimate, then update it as more complete data arrives. This process is public and designed to ensure accuracy. Using it as a reason to fire someone is profoundly dishonest and straight from the authoritarian playbook.

Think of it like this: A news outlet reports the initial score of a game. Later, an official review changes a call, and the final score is updated. The initial report wasn't "fake," it was just the best information available at the time. The revision makes it more accurate.

You're going to hear a lot from the MAGA crowd about how the BLS "manipulated" jobs numbers. It's a lie, and it's important to understand why.

The President is pointing to data revisions as "proof." But revisions are a normal, healthy part of producing accurate statistics.
