I would like to speak up today for the trans community.

You see, I know a bit of what it’s like to be politically scapegoated. When Japan attacked Pearl Harbor in 1941, suddenly anyone in America who had any amount of Japanese ancestry became suspect. Politicians preyed upon ignorance and fear. /1

Glass castles start fires in the sunlight
The strumming harp lures the march
Trees made from girders and gasoline
What fruits grow here?
Hopefully something sweet
Having seeds planted would bring stardrops
Farmers come to a halt
The sun itself lives in this jungle
Let us bask
And grow

I feel everything
the heat emanating from my body
on the verge of sweat
but

cozy

My skull is a microwave
something is cooking
smells

past expiry

The jello-brained man hopes to start his day
but the wave of malaise awaits to drown him

it is hard to swim
the tides always win
