Another one bites the dust...
Ok thanks, what a mess.
07.08.2025 17:42 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I only think there is one destroyer, I mischaracterised Kulakov as a frigate earlier. There could be two destroyers, if 772 is returning to the Baltic (but I think it could be archive photos).

07.08.2025 17:12 β π 13 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Escort of 626 Vice Admiral Kulakov:
I think it went Iver Huitfeldt (intercept) -> Diana (handoff) -> Esbern Snare (following out of Kattegat).
The unusual thing is to see to frigates involved, late intercept (usually followed from Bornholm), and the proximity to false flagged ships.
Russian Navy Project 1155 Udaloy-class destroyer RFS Vice-Admiral Kulakov (626) northbound under the Great Belt Bridge in Denmark - August 7, 2025

I have been following this since yesterday, seems to be false flag tankers mixed with the destroyer. The destroyer went under Storebælt earlier today.

07.08.2025 11:57 β π 6 π 2 π¬ 1 π 0Are you referring to the other false flagged ship which lags a bit behind her?
Then that would be false Panama flagged WALL (9299886)

For comparison, here is Vitse-Admiral Kulakov heading north on 4 June 2025 and today

07.08.2025 10:36 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I have come to the same conclusion that it might be 626 (canβt recall if she was in the Baltic or out of area)

Complex picture.
Could this RIB from Marinehjemmeværnet make an approach? (to snap pictures of the false Aruba flag?)

F357 Thetis is an educational platform, not sure they will use this for other than monitoring.
There was a Russian frigate* involved

07.08.2025 08:12 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Superb tracking here from @pa.nton.cx. I am intrigued to see if either ship is ultimately stopped, or if this is just a case of enhanced monitoring. None of the NB8++ governments have been keen to talk recently. Our report from earlier this week now free to read:

(However, I am pretty sure that a group of pirates in a false flagged vessel is not party to those agreements)
