And tbf sometimes it is just. True. That you don’t have the time to fully engage with the material. And also uni costs a shit ton of money so like, I don’t think it’s a “failing” to just try to pass the exam. But i do feel its important that I actually get something out of it beyond a degree.

I think the cruel irony of post-secondary for a lot of people is that you only ever learn the lessons you need to succeed in university *after* you needed to use them.

Continually finding new holes in my knowledge despite doing very well academically. Feels like I’ve built so much of my engineering knowledge on a shaky foundation.

I don’t have many regrets about my time in university but I think if I were to tell myself from 4 years ago anything it would be to absolutely NOT fall into the trap of the “I don’t have time to learn from the fundamentals up so I’ll just learn how to pass the exam” mindset.

Ideal conditions for starting your passion project will never come. You will never feel skilled enough to make it. There will never be a moment where you stop being scared to start. Do it anyway. Do it badly. Do it scared. Just make that thing that’s clawing at the door of your soul; It wants out.

I almost never see anyone talking about the genuine improvements that the developers try to make in their games in response to the overwhelming criticisms they get because I guess they'd rather throw a fit over 1 muddy texture

This being said, as much as I wish that my city would give more funding to public transit I’m very grateful that I get to use it. It’s awesome that without a car I can just hop on a bus and get around the city in a decent amount of time, traffic permitting.
