Trying out some meds for adhd. Have been looking into seeing how antidepressants and adhd meds work together and it seems like not great. Am definitely going to be talking to my doc about it, but would love to hear if anyone has a combo that works well for them.

Once staff are trained and comfortable, we usually try to identity projects or skills that they are interested in and work those into goals for ongoing training and work.

I have a new hire checklist that runs through all the different aspects of the position. Based on their prior experience we discussed together to determine what they can check off immediately, what they need typical training for, and unique things that will require more indepth training.

Library workers do a lot of great work. But we're also just people. We are not perfect and we are not the champions of the revolution. We need your support, not your idolization.

Librarianship is like 90% white and cis women. Many of them are just as bigoted as the rest of the country. Many are very happy about book bans and the shift toward fascism. Many will happily stigmatize and ostracize unhoused, trans, BIPOC, and other vulnerable and marginalized patrons and staff.

I get the sentiment behind these kinds of posts, but I really wish folks would stop doing this. Librarians are not superheroes. We are not the last stand for democracy. Please stop putting us on a pedestal.
