Iβm thrilled to announce that I wrote a brand-new afterword for the paperback edition of That Librarian, out September 30th! You can pre-order it now.
I made some changes. Iβm no longer in the business of protecting people who didnβt protect me. π

Several more states passed Anti-Book Ban/Freedom to Read bills in 2025. Here's what they are, what they mean, and things we should be thinking about the future of such bills: bookriot.com/2025-anti-bo...

01.08.2025 16:05 β π 7 π 5 π¬ 0 π 1As an alum of Southeastern, Iβm disgusted. Silencing Dr. Emami after she found toxic metals in Lake Maurepas is cowardly and dangerous. When profit outweighs truth, science dies. The university should be ashamed. @la-cac.org

Going down the to-do list and catching up on life since Iβve been gone. Also going to take TWO naps today.
30.07.2025 17:06 β π 28 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Did you know they changed the name to the Elizabeth Tower? I didnβt, but it will always be Big Ben to me.
30.07.2025 00:03 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0One last video of our time aboard. I could have stayed home doing laundry all summer, but decided to be adventurous. Always dream big and do things that make you happy. Life is short. @andreatrudeau.bsky.social @captainlibrary.bsky.social
29.07.2025 18:21 β π 27 π 3 π¬ 3 π 0Thank you!
29.07.2025 15:33 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0First iced tea in a month! Louisiana bound today.
29.07.2025 13:30 β π 11 π 0 π¬ 2 π 0Quick breakfast, we finished our 19 hour layover in London, and are headed back to the U.S.
28.07.2025 12:40 β π 17 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We stayed in a capsule hotel in the middle of Picadilly Circus within walking distance to it all!
28.07.2025 12:39 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Only 19 hours in London? We went full tourist: Tube rides, Piccadilly, St. Jamesβs, Buckingham, Big Ben, Westminster, Trafalgar. Fish & chips + pub, of course. Back to the U.S. with sore feet, no regrets.
28.07.2025 05:38 β π 51 π 1 π¬ 3 π 0Hereβs a side-by-side of us: heading to Kenya vs. coming home. We gave up shavingβno mirrors, no hot water, sometimes no water at all.
Andrea had been before, so we packed smart: body wipes, bug spray, sunscreen. No A/C, no ice, rainwater laundry, bottled water for brushing teeth.
Butβwe made it!
Our time at JAMS in Kenya has come to an end, but the memories will stay with us forever. Weβre so grateful to Dr. Wasonga for welcoming us and for reminding us that difficult roads often lead to the most beautiful places.
27.07.2025 11:10 β π 34 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0Our safari this morning in Nairobi National Park, Kenya, Africa!
26.07.2025 15:58 β π 19 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Treat yo self! (New ring and bracelets.)
26.07.2025 10:13 β π 18 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Safari preview at Nairobi National Park. More to come!
26.07.2025 09:37 β π 23 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Did we relish our hotel meal? Absolutely. I was missing melted cheese, which is the glue that holds my personality together and the most elite food group known to mankind. I also missed AC. π€£
26.07.2025 04:05 β π 21 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0We landed in Nairobi and went to a giraffe sanctuary!
25.07.2025 19:20 β π 21 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0JAMS and LBL work is done, and now weβre onto Phase 2: the side questβon our own dime! Two days in Nairobi, then a 19-hour layover in London packed with sightseeing before heading home. Bonus: adorable school kids waving at planes. @captainlibrary.bsky.social @andreatrudeau.bsky.social
25.07.2025 07:26 β π 35 π 4 π¬ 0 π 0Our latest blog post is up!
24.07.2025 19:41 β π 10 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0We finished up the last row of books this morning that needed to be labeled!!!! All of the books are officially on the shelves, labeled, and color coded for ease of use.
24.07.2025 09:59 β π 35 π 1 π¬ 2 π 0People keep asking how the food is in Kenyaβhonestly, everything tastes fresher. Most of the fruits and veggies are grown right here at the school. Iβve tried new dishes (yes, even mudfish!) and Iβm hooked on Kenyaβs chili sauce. This morningβs breakfast? Popcorn, passion fruit, and mango.
24.07.2025 06:55 β π 18 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0Our latest blog post from Kenya!
23.07.2025 18:18 β π 7 π 1 π¬ 0 π 0We took a walk down the road from the school. Kenya is beautiful! @bldglibraries.bsky.social
