Oddly this post reminded me that I read a book called The Bird back in 2007. For a sec I thought this film was an adaptation of the book. Turns out they're two separate stories, both on themes of childhood neglect, with (almost) the same name

Our kids were a bit slow on the uptake of female pronouns because we are a household of he/hims. Extra confused by Welsh language for she:hi being pronounced "he".

The other day 4 felt he'd finally got the hang of it and told me:

'Dad, if someone is a woman you call him "she"'

Applied some therapeutic parenting at work recently.

My team had disappointing and frustrating news. A senior colleague started firing off a dozen solutions.

I explained that he didn't need to fix it. If he acknowledged how everyone was feeling he'd be equipping us to fix it ourselves.
