Maybe the most in need of a remake game ever

There’s gold here, it’s just buried under stuff that was fixed immediately through iteration on this solid core. And being in the world, with VA, will help so much

All said and done though it’s still Trails so I’m saying all this and it’s still a 7

Trying to navigate literally any area is a nightmare, the side quests are badly paced and don’t even tell you when there’s new ones (and Ruan has 10?!), even the NPC dialogue is kinda boring

They were making RPGs for 20 years at this point and it still feels like their first stab at one it’s wild

I’ve just finished the Zeiss section on my FC replay and I think this game moving up four spots when I play the remake was an understatement

Combat is nothing, the camera genuinely gives me motion sickness, and it is such a slog until there’s that Trails character writing magic once every 10 hours

There are only three seiyuus full stop that share Love Live and Falcom on their resume

Those being Aina Suzuki and Aguri Onishi in Ys 9/10 respectively, and Coco Hayashi is Fuuka in Kyoto Xanadu (peak casting, btw)

Sacred Stones' dialogue is so well written it's kind of wild to me. They all speak in fantasy English, but the slightly differing vocabulary each character has which shows their mindset and class at the same time is genuinely astounding
