And last, man, I love this show, but does it make me feel even more inadequate about myself haha
Amazing regardless

And last, man, I love this show, but does it make me feel even more inadequate about myself haha
Amazing regardless
I heard through a friend that Choi Mina Sue was getting all the hate. Unsurprising, but disappointing
1st, she is AMAZING television. Her chaos propelled so much
2nd, she is just great. Genuine to a fault, to a detriment even, and there's anything more human?
She's so charming as (almost) everyone
Finished Singles Inferno 5. What an amazing season
So dynamic, with shifting focuses. It felt like most contestants had a plotline going. People that would monopolize the spotlight in other seasons here were part of a greater ensemble, because so many were so good. Amazing television
God, I HATE how they dealt with the Omega Sentinel so much...
Hundreds of pages of Hickman building her up from the ground up just to be wasted like this
In fact, all of Hickman's toys. Alia Gregor, Dr. Devo, Karima, Nimrod... just unceremoniously sidelined and eventually discarded
And so, in literal 2 pages, the Omega Sentinel is no more. That easy, huh?
One psychic knife and done, Karima is back! More IP rearranging, making sure Karima can be used. Forget how inconsistent it is with any other series, including its sister mini and supposedly other half
More proof of how rushed those final days of Krakoa felt, how it felt like the line couldn't wait to just end:
Both parts 4 and 5 are titled the same, which might be intentional, but I doubt it. Feels like an oversight.
Even if it was intentional, that's a very unclear way to do it
Xavier in "Rise of the Powers of X" is a broken man martyrizing himself
Xavier in "Fall of the Rise of X" feels like a cheap attempt at a plot twist. He refuses to communicate clearly with Cyclops, because the story demands it. "Fall" tries to get you with an "OMG DID XAVIER TURN??", when c'mon...
That is used to off "Wrongslide", a broken toy of Krakoa, feels like pure IP management. It is inevitable in corporate comics, but it crumbles when it feels so transparent.
There would be no place for twisted Rockslide. If anything, they now can bring back "the real one". It's cynical...
The Crucible is a complex issue. It thrived on complexity, on the ambiguity of its pros and cons. Is it inhuman or something to be accepted? It raised issues of different cultures' practices
To see it turn into a non-complicated power fantasy glory plot point to raise Krakoa it just feels... gross.
-because the story needs Cyclops to be alive
If anything, Nimrod should DESTROY Cyclops now that the Ressurection Engines of Krakoa were down. No more coming back. And he doesn't, because "your death doesn't matter"
Which of course is very much in line with Duggan's Nimrod, which is frankly dumb
The problem with not getting into a story is that suspension of disbelief just begins to rot
Why didn't Nimrod simply... kill Cyclops?
He already killed Dr. Gregor (anticlimatically, after Hickman developed her to be abandoned). In Inferno, he MASSACRED Xavier and Magneto
Of course, the answer is-
Al Ewing was by his side helping with flight navigation, but yeah, that was one weird and difficult ship to land......
11.02.2026 19:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I actually read the first issue, don't remember why I didn't keep with it!!
Gonna give it a read, that's an amazing (and apt, if memory serves right) description
That's what's lacking for me, the conflict
I don't mind them killing Nazis, but I want to know how that reflects on these characters. Tbf, Duggan almost pulled an arc of this theme for Kitty in his main book, but for the others, it just feels sudden and cheap
I really enjoy Marauders...
Completely agree. It also helped that the art for that run made those costumes so decadent and torn apart, accentuating the foreboding atmosphere of that run
11.02.2026 19:13 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I'm starting to get nitpicky, but that pause before "extinct"... is so cheesy...
I genuinely love most of Duggan's work, I just find his over-the-top approach so out of synch with Krakoa, built on sophistication, and particularly with the MAIN plot of Krakoa,, which is what he's tackling here...
Dude, she's SO popular
My friends who don't give a damn about superheroes started playing Marvel Rivals and they all are gaga for Magik already
Having some fun right now with my DragonMaids and their fusion GY bounceback hijinks
11.02.2026 18:44 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The thing about Gold is that I adore the roster, but I really dislike the plotting and writing in general /:
I wish I did like it
The more you talk about it, the more I remember I actually quite enjoy Age of X-Man... I think the concept is lowkey silly but some good minis!!
Man, sometimes I forget how much I love YuGiOh... my favorite card game, even though I love deckbuilding in games and this one drives me insane
11.02.2026 18:34 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Age of X-Man does indeed have some decent stuff, I particularly really enjoy "X-Tremists" by Leah Williams and George Jeanty. Pretty good stuff!
Also, yeah, Rosenberg's Uncanny X-Men can also be pretty interesting!!
On the other side of the opinions, I DEEPLY dislike Gold /:
The answer to the question, "Which is more important in comics, the writing or the art?," by the way, is "Whichever is being worked on at the moment."
No half-assing the job and letting the other guy pick up your slack, buster. Even if the other guy is you.
The greatest to ever do it
11.02.2026 08:19 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This story arc is so heavy, really terrible stuff going on in it
Good storytelling, and great setup for Legion Lost, but man, hard read
Yeah, anything post Bendis and pre Krakoa, this weird middle ground, feels like "lost decade" stuff for me. Nothing really clicked
X-Men Red was decent, if you like a good blockbuster stuff with a side of Tom Taylor sappiness.
Honestly, this crossover is kind of okay and fun. But man, what a weird era this was...
10.02.2026 20:26 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Much has been said about post-Hickman Krakoa, but let it be said again: the downfall of Orchis from an insidious foreboding opponent to cartoon villains is such a damn tragedy...
10.02.2026 20:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Dear lord in Heavens, I HATE Duggan's take on Stasis. He is insuferable in the worst of ways
10.02.2026 20:22 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Killing Nazis is great escapism, but I hate how bloodthirsty the X-Men are in these comics
It feels unearned and sudden, and completely okay for characters that should struggle with it, namely Nightcrawler, for example. It feels cheap and purely done for Twitter, if that makes sense. Idk...
