Stinkfly (Coenomyia ferruginea). It is uncommon throughout its range. Larvae feed on the larvae of bark beetles and other insects in the top layers of soil. Adults are sluggish and are found on foliage.

Eastern Newt (likely looking for insects or other invertebrates). This is the terrestrial Red Eft stage of its life cycle. Photo by Thom. After 1 to 3 years spent on land, usually in forests, they return to water. Adults are almost totally aquatic.
