And it makes bizarre mistakes. When Brian Wilson died I tried it on one of my fave lesser-known Beach Boys songs ("Trader", actually written by Carl Wilson). This is clearly about imperialism & the Native American genocide but it insisted it was about being ripped off by their manager.

For areas of knowledge, it did me a not bad summary of HIV cure science but being AI, it's always a bit out of date and lacks critical thinking.
It's useless for anything creative - I tried it for a story idea - clichΓ© city.
And the 50-word 'sauna flyer'

Polish translation just released.
Robert Hejzak and I wrote it; Deniz Uyanik made the 'sauna flyer'; Apostolos Kalogiannis put it online (CZ, UK, TR, GR!).
- Easy to insert a translated version - Polish is the latest of several.

I don't think 'we' do, necessarily. This guy, for instance, is a v popular UK TV presenter who has Asperger's

I agree. Asperger's is very different. Children with classic autism have cognitive problems and are non-verbal or have language delay. Ones with ASD may be hyper-verbal and very intelligent. Just because there are features in common, e.g. social interaction difficulties, doesn't imply a 'spectrum'.
18.04.2025 11:37 β π 4 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0About time a national newspaper reported fully on *this* Trump genocide, which may kill 4 million by 2030. I understand why US ones don't, but others should concentrate as much on the lethal impact of US foreign aid cuts as on his so-called 'diplomacy'.

Closing down huge areas of scientific research the action of an empire in terminal decline. The problem is that the US has been so far ahead in some aspects of medical research, including HIV, that other countries aren't ready yet to pick it up.
This just out in The Lancet with Moi as co-author (I mainly revised the PrEP bit).
MiΕosz started writing this about 3 months ago and it's been a bit overtaken by events. But the message still holds, Europe won't see 'the End of AIDS' till eastern Europe does.

This is the nostra-culpa article I've been waiting for from the Telegraph. In its own way quite daring; unequivocally draws a parallel between Trump 2025 and Hitler 1939, & the Molotov-Ribbentrop pact. Also says 2010s Austerity was a disastrous mistake.

If Trump keeps going as he seems to intend, the rest of the world will either have to do without America - which implies uniting against it - or *become* America. So much for sovereignty?
I've watched the vid now.
It wasn't a Nazi salute.
It was a Fascist one.
A clearly deliberate full Mussolini.
Wasn't he the guy who ended up hanging from a lamppost?
Gulf Stream shows no sign of weakening yet, though will eventually: "It's almost unanimous that the Atlantic overturning will slow in the future, but whether or not it will collapse is still up for debate," Foukal said. "This work indicates that there's still time to act."

I don't think it's naive optimism, I think it's despair. Trump's second victory was a big blow to progressives everywhere and until we actually see what he's going to do we wait in anxiety. Oddly enough I think Space Karen's Tweets may annoy Europeans enough to generate some real opposition.
10.01.2025 11:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Previously the EU might have got together with China, India etc to form a united bloc against an isolationist USA. However Brexit has weakened the EU (and the UK) and China is also in trouble with high unemployment and low domestic demand.
