Thanks for this Sacha. Some of us do keep up. Iโm delighted the Queer lexicon is more nuanced and inclusive.

Every talk I give, know who the most outspoken trans allies are? Queer folk in their 70s!!
Nothing on the telly tonight? How about a live volcanic eruption

Amazing to see so many @lambethgreenparty.bsky.social people out in South London today.
People have had enough of Labour and want a credible alternative and that is us.

A map of the South East of England showing the lower land North of High Weald in Kent with many places with temperatures at 09:00 of -2ยบC and presumably some freezing fog in places.
Min of 0.8ยบC on the Hill. It was interesting to note the persistence of low temperatures and freezing fog in the lower areas between the North and South Downs and North of High Weald in Kent. H/t Wunderground

Why?

I've been looking back to December 1978 for a similar set up. It was a battle that took a couple of weeks and NY '79 had a very memorable Beast from the East. Most of December was pretty miserable from memory, until finally the cold air won.

For fun: GFS 00z going for something a little bit more 'Beasty' in less than two weeks' time with a Scandi high and a cold Easterly into the UK. Very different output from the changeable Atlantic weather in other forecast models with low pressure mostly in Biscay. Interesting start to Winter... โ๏ธ
