Gender clinic waiting list 'far too long' says coroner after teen's death Camden's Tavistock Centre has been criticised by a coroner but its specialist clinic for children and young people closed down last year

The UK’s Trans healthcare scandal isn’t a complex issue

Her death was preventable

It was the result of a complete failure by cisgender policymakers and clinicians who willfully ignore expert warnings and lived experience

They are responsible for a system built to delay, deny, and destroy hope

Libs of Tiktok, Elon Musk, and Robbie Starbuck put everything they had into trying to push a boycott of Netflix over LGBTQ characters in their shows.

Netflix ignored them and the stock is back up. Turns out bots don't actually cancel accounts.

A Tory leader can't be challenged in their first year.
That's up for Badenoch on Nov 2nd.
Whether the Tory MPs have the stomach to swap her for someone who'd be just as awful is another matter

I know statistics are poorly understood and are misused. But facts matter

Between the 1991, 2001, 2011 and 2021 Census *every* ethnic group in the UK has become *less* geographically segregated and *all* groups, majority and minorities, are more likely to interact with people not like them

Mourning those murdered by Hamas isn't incompatible with mourning those murdered by the Israeli state.

Demanding that the hostages return isn't incompatible with naming & demanding an end to genocide.

Naming the power imbalance & impact thereof doesn't desecrate those murdered two years ago today.

The Green Party just voted to reform trans healthcare. What does this bold new policy look like? Promoted by LGBTIQA+ Greens (Green Party), c/o PO Box 78066, London SE16 9GQ

What we're calling for:
- The end of segregation in trans healthcare.
- Ending the torture of conversion therapy.
- Moving the NHS to an informed consent model.
- Expanding the range of funded transition care.
- Access to affirming healthcare for trans youth.
- NHS support for people who seld-medicate or use private care.
- Real support for detransitioning people.

How we get there:
- Closing the existing Gender Identity Clinics and supporting GPs with training and funding to care for trans people.
- Lifting the politically motivated ban on 'puberty blockers'.
- Starting a government funded, trans-led, inquiry into past NHS treatment of trans people.
- Including & prioritising trans expertise in independent care reviews.
- Passing a trans-inclusive ban on 'conversion therapy'.

We don't have to accept the status quo.

Green Party Conference recently passed some amazing healthcare policy for the trans community. It commits us to an informed consent model of trans healthcare, a trans-led public inquiry into NHS care, a trans-inclusive ban on conversion therapy, and so much more.

Reform voters are largely Tory voters.
What will gain Reform the election is Labour voters decamping to the Lib Dems and the Greens. Good work!

There’s a lot of this about. Stop trying to guilt the left into voting for a Labour Party that hates us and shapes its policies towards people that hate them

Disappearing people, disappearing morals – how two years has changed Gaza and Israel | Orly Noy There can be no healing until the world stares into and acknowledges the void torn open by this conflict, says Israeli journalist Orly Noy

"It feels as if everything has vanished. Not only the tens of thousands of Palestinians in Gaza erased without graves, without records, as if they had never existed – so many other things have been hollowed out: basic conceptions of morality, decency, compassion, humanity, hope, future."

It seems pretty clear to me now: Keir Starmer would rather lose to Reform than to the Labour left, which is his real enemy. Any policy that might recover lost ground with voters has to be struck down, as it looks like a concession to the Labour left. And he and his team cannot contemplate that.

Comes to something when I find myself agreeing with Chris Philp. But every bit of this is correct.
"Keir Starmer lied to get power. He lied to the Labour party about what he believed in, he lied to the country about what he would do, and he lied to himself that he was up to the job."

I joined the Greens in June. Conference last weekend felt like a kind of homecoming. I’ve been adrift these last few years, mourning Alice, despairing at a ruling class that seems intents on heaping misery on all minorities. In the depths of grief hope wasn’t enough, but now it breaths life into me.

Can you imagine if Russia attacked and seized a UK vessel in international waters & kidnapped the people on board, including UK citizens, and the only response from the UK govt was to say that's "a matter for the Russian govt".
