PRC won the civil war in China but failed to do so in Taiwan. There was no surrender, no resounding defeat of the ROC forces under the KMT. The ROC relocated to Taiwan vowing to take back China from the communists. Years later let go of that aim. Somewhat similar situation to DPRK and Sth Korea.

Taiwan is strategically important to the US and its interests in the Pacific so Trump and his advisors would have a vastly different POV. Trump cares more about what happens to Taiwan than he does about Ukraine.

4. Therefore the CPC has no claim over Taiwan. They lost their chance to defeat the ROC in Taiwan long ago. It failed and 75 years has passed since, so its too late now.. its a done deal. Taiwan belongs to its 26 million peeps, not China.

No, it won't open Taiwan up to attack just because of the loss of the funding. Its ability to protect itself may be reduced by a small percentage though. And it wasn't a Nazi salute. Nothing like it. That said I don't like the guy.
