23.10.2025 08:49 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In a 1991 Donald Duck story WHEN CHRISTMAS WENT CUCKOO (art by Vicar) Don and Daisy crash into an invisible forcefield covering Scrooge's Bear Mountain cabin. Donald breaks the dome machine. Later they find out aliens were behind it. I wonder if Stephen King ever read the story? #comicsky #booksky
07.10.2025 11:51 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Fascism is looming everywhere in PT Anderson's ultra-bleak view of America. So, why is ONE BATTLE AFTER ANOTHER so damn funny? I laughed much more and harder than watching the new NAKED GUN. Leo, Sean (that crazy walk!!), Benicio and Chase are excellent. Β‘Viva la revoluciΓ³n! #filmsky
04.10.2025 20:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Now, at 54, I think 1941 is a hot mess. At that point Spielberg was so huge, he could do whatever he wanted, and maybe Zemeckis was a bad influence, but it's all good now. Just look at what they accomplished together a few years later. Btw, I still like 1941 a lot
04.10.2025 09:09 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0At 10, when I first saw 1941, I hadn't seen Jaws or Encounters. I knew nothing about Pearl Harbor or Japanophobia in California, and very little about Spielberg or WW2. I did know Aykroyd, Belushi, Christopher Lee, Ferris Wheels and fighter planes, and thought it was the coolest movie ever. #filmsky
04.10.2025 09:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Nancy Allen making love to Paul McCartney's HΓΆfner would be a highlight of any movie. It certainly is in I WANNA HOLD YOUR HAND (1979). Zemeckis depicts the hysteria well, but judging by this flick, you'd never guess that in a few years he is preparing BACK TO THE FUTURE and ROGER RABBIT. #filmsky
03.10.2025 14:22 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0What I thought watching I, TONYA on HBO: Maybe Americans are born just to amuse the rest of the world. Some performers in that show are amazingly talented. Many others are just dumb fucks. But all (at least in the eyes of the world) are merely entertainers of the greatest show in the world. #filmsky
30.09.2025 11:15 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0GAUCHO GAUCHO is a beautiful cinematic poem with a healthy amount of cows, wine and caballeros. I loved it #filmsky
28.09.2025 15:33 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0My second viewing two years after the first confirmed it, at least for me: James Cameron is wrong. OPPENHEIMER doesn't need to show the actual destruction of Hiroshima and Nagasaki. Movie's morals are intact just the way they are. What a powerful film! #filmsky
22.09.2025 13:59 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0How incredibly lucky George Roy Hill ran out of film that exact moment, and gave us the perfect ending for a movie. RIP the blue-eyed film gods Robert Redford and Paul Newman #filmsky
20.09.2025 14:38 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0The Major was too much of a comic book character, sunglasses and all. Otherwise THE LONG WALK felt surprisingly (chillingly) real in it's dystopian terror. Also, beautiful acting and a great score. Those end credit strings, wow! #filmsky
16.09.2025 08:16 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Watched THE MONKEY on HBO Max. Great soundtrack (Nina Simone!) but needed more organ grindin'. And bumpin' #filmsky
12.09.2025 06:23 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0"Twilight is upon me, and soon night must fall."
Yoda's famous line in RETURN OF THE JEDI wrecks me every time.
Messi is still pure class. All 3 goals were assisted by players from AtlΓ©tico. And in Europe, AtlΓ©ti's Hancko scored against Germany and Le Normand was shutting out Bulgaria with Spain. At the same time AtlΓ©ti is 17th in #LaLiga. I truly love El Cholo, but is it time to say adiΓ³s?
05.09.2025 05:01 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This scene in Pine Barrens, SOPRANOS S3E11, is nuts! In a show obsessed with delicious food, the London Broil Gloria cooks for Tony (and then hurls at him) is disgustingly gray, flat and floppy. Why? To underline her mental issues and/or unfitness to even be a gumar, let alone wife? #foodsky #tvsky
04.09.2025 10:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Watched THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK. Beginning, just super (tho nowadays when AI makes yetis act all human and shit, the Wampa looks like Gary Busey after a 3 week bender), but since the first scene with Yoda, all I could think was, what if Yoda was this spaced out in the prequel trilogy, too? #filmsky
31.08.2025 08:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0I was about 20 at the time, and watched it with my friends. So I didn't/couldn't cry. But I know exactly what you mean.
31.08.2025 08:31 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes, naturally. It was just an example of music's importance to Lucas. In his personal life too, at least when he was younger
30.08.2025 13:40 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0In CAUGHT STEALING I saw Austin Butler for the first time play a major character who's just a normal man. Turns out he can do it. Now I'm waiting for TimothΓ©e Chalamet to do the same. He too has this great movie star persona, but can he be a regular Joe? BTW, Aronofsky has made a good movie #filmsky
30.08.2025 08:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Some of these new additions to the lore really make you see the original trilogy in a different light
30.08.2025 07:27 β π 1 π 1 π¬ 1 π 0Just got home from a 50th anniversary screening. It is a near perfect film, but without Williams or with a "normal" action/disaster film score it wouldn't be nearly as good
29.08.2025 20:18 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0To a degree, there's no Lucas or Spielberg without Williams. How fortunate it was that Williams scored Sugarland Express and it turned out to be excellent. Then Jaws and five decades of wonderful cinema
29.08.2025 20:00 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Lucas' films are usually big music films, Raiders for example. Imagine American Graffiti without music
29.08.2025 19:56 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Being a non-American I've never seen a drive-in movie. I really feel like I have missed something essential
29.08.2025 19:52 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Oh man, the Jurassic Park Score! And same guy composed Schindler's List same year. Wow

29.08.2025 16:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Of course not. Star Wars was the coolest title. But now that we have all the SW movies and shows, I prefer to call them by the "extra" names
29.08.2025 16:08 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Very true. I considered it my obligation and a privilege as a parent
29.08.2025 16:05 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Thanks, I'll do that!
