Turns out the tactics needed to calm down a dysregulated toddler are almost exactly the same as calming a freaked out cat.

It also helps to give the toddler an entire baguette.

Horror is a twisted way of examining the worst inside us, and I appreciate its honest examination of both how we express that darkness and confront it.

It's a very hopeful genre. Maybe the evil isn't completely gone, but we know how to fight it.

Trying to improve my mental health by reading more. Namely, horror novels.

There's something very comforting about all the terrible things happening in your world stemming from a named source of evil. I find the feelings of rage, despair and revulsion in these stories cathartic, almost soothing.1/2
