No, AI is not Making Engineers 10x as Productive Curing Your AI 10x Engineer Imposter Syndrome

This is the single best piece I've read on "replacing coders with AI," it fully dispells the myth from the perspective of a software engineer and does so in a calm, reasonable way.

We can’t treat our supporters like shit. No amount of money is worth the hit to the relationship.

I have to say, I agree with the author's take, as far as a solution. Do not work with this firm. I mean, with numbers like these...why would you?

The Mothership Vortex: An Investigation Into the Firm at the Heart of the Democratic Spam Machine How a single consulting firm extracted $282 million from a network of spam PACs while delivering just $11 million to actual campaigns.

So the massive amount of spam that left-leaning Americans get from (supposedly) Democrats? Apparently, it's all one firm--Mothership Strategies--and they're self-dealing. data4democracy.substack.com/p/the-mother...

Just presenting a list of characteristics and attitudes is never enough. People want to identify with a brand/a candidate. Spin a story, make it a story that people can connect with, make it about a person. Humans have primitive wiring. We don’t vote for lists.

What doesn’t work:

“Let’s just make it about -policies-.”

“Let’s just look at what we currently offer and make sure we present that effectively.”

“We already have a brand, there’s equity there, let’s lean on that, it should be enough.”

The classic truth about effective marketing is that it’s better to be specific than all things to all people. Budgets are finite; the goal should be to spin a specific narrative that people flock to identify with.

Normalize talking about fed. $ when these headlines happen. Thousands of scientists, working for decades funded by the federal government did this. At times, people thought this was useless research. Below is some info about the HIV labs at the University of Utah. 🧵 www.science.org/doi/10.1126/...

Not fleeing: New report shows more wealthy residents in Mass., 2 years into 'millionaire's tax' Despite previous concerns, Massachusetts' "millionaire's tax" hasn't seemed to deter high-earners from continuing to live here, according to a new study from the Institute for Policy Studies.

MA put in a millionaires tax 2 years ago, and the GOP said we'd miss revenue targets & millionaires would flee. MA collected TWICE the projected revenues, and the number of millionaires went UP 40%
