I love that movie.

It’s become a practice to know this and not feel it. Every single day. I’m holding back feeling anything until the moment of ecstasy on a particular day.

I try to remember that they’re basically coming out of a cult. As an exvangelical I can have some empathy for their position. I will celebrate their evolution and point them in the direction of making amends through their actions. But I will keep a safe distance.

Someone laid out a pretty good argument that the right is trying to destroy “childhood” and I don’t think I’ll look at all the things that are happening specifically to children in the same way again.
