Tonight was a very bad night.

The average SNAP benefit per month is $177 a person.

The average ACA benefit per month is up to $550 a person.

People want us to hold the line for a reason. This is not a matter of appealing to a base. It’s about people’s lives.

And working people want leaders whose word means something to them.

Tonight’s Senate vote on the federal government shutdown should have been a time for strength.

Instead we saw capitulation and a betrayal of working Americans.

The American people need more from their leaders.

Amazon just announced 14,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $40M last year.

UPS announced 48,000 layoffs. Its CEO made over $24M last year.

A group of women is intentionally dating ICE agents to take photos of them without their masks. These women deserve recognition as true heroes.

ICE is the American Gestapo. Good people don't want blood money. ICE only attracts racist thugs.

The depth of the shame of a country this wealthy and abundant allowing its people to go hungry is impossible to measure. The fact that a handful of people could fix this by paying their fair share of taxes while still remaining obscenely wealthy makes it even worse.

When this is all said and done, and this presidency is over, people need to go to jail, no questions, no debates, no drawn-out hearings… to jail, for the atrocities caused to the American people.

To all those “Let them go without food for a month, maybe they’ll get a job” people: Most SNAP recipients have jobs. Exploitative jobs that keep them living just below the poverty line. — Should they starve to death? And then what?

Trump regime ICE thug smashes a US woman to the ground, 2025. ICE has increased its use of violence against its victims and US citizens alike.

Remember how 20-year-olds barged into federal buildings and stole our most sensitive data? Shortly after, a masked army kidnapped hundreds of people and trafficked them to a concentration camp overseas. That secret police—along with the military—now occupies our cities. This is an attack on the U.S.

My statement on redistricting in New York:

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

I haven’t seen anyone talk about how Jane Doe - an Epstein survivor - just sued the Bank of New York Mellon for funding Epstein and failing to file a Suspicious Activity Report. A Mellon heir is the one who gave $130M to pay the troops. Seems bribey to me.

A group of US women kicked out a Nazi, while a group of US men stood around doing nothing.

People around the world are noticing that it is women who are leading the fight against fascists in the US. Whether it is Nazis or ICE.

This is a U.S. citizen being brutally abducted by ICE while his mom pleads for them to stop and the videographer cries for help. The Chicago police do nothing to stop it.

They will come for everyone, and they’re not even hiding that anymore. If you are not organizing and resisting yet, get started.

Just a thought: How about we stop shaming the poor for buying things that may not be essential, and start shaming the rich for making a profit off things that are essential?

Primaries are there for a reason. I'm not interested in "vote Blue no matter who" especially as its given us people like Fetterman. Push to make Democratic candidates better or replace them.
