I did like that the giant cannon was rifled, and that the fighters use reverse thrusters to stop.

Museo Egizio Turin photo showing a small, dark-blue, core-formed, round glass jar which tapers in at the shoulders below the neck. It has yellow, white, and light blue festoon decoration trailed around the main body. There is a single yellow trail just below the neck of the jar. There is a dark-blue circular glass lid, the top of which is adorned with two dark-blue duck heads with yellow bills, a yellow trailed stripe on the top of each duck’s head, and indents for their eyes. The jar is displayed on a perspex (?) stand against a grey background. Glass jar dimensions: 7.6 cm x 9.6 cm.

Core-forming is one of the earliest glassmaking techniques. Glassmakers shaped the body of the vessel around a core, wound colored trails around it. They then let the vessel cool and removed the core.

A 3,500 year-old Egyptian glass cosmetic jar with two little duck heads!

Glass was a relatively new material at that time, so this jar would have been a precious possession.

If you do go hiking in Australia’s national parks, you can often borrow a Personal Locator Beacon (PLB) for free from the park authority or the local cops. Worth every penny. Here’s the list for NSW. www.nationalparks.nsw.gov.au/safety/bushw...

The underlying code would then produce a final rating between the two choices as a way of expressing what you had set with your preferences. It was a great way of helping people make choices informed by their own preference and in proportion to available data.

He developed a thing that let you load criteria and their probabilities for two separate choices. Then you would get a set of visual analog slider bars that would let you weight each criterion according to your own preference.

I do like a bit of decision analysis and I have enjoyed the idea you take multiple criterion decision deliberation and expressing it mathematically to get to quantified analysis. A guy called Jack Dowey now at the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine was one of my profs for Clin Epi

Beatrice Blore Browne's winged wheel gravestone in St Tudno's church yard on Great Orme, Llandudno, North Wales. Inscription reads In loving memory of Beatrice Blore Browne (Bee) born September 26th 1887 died November 23rd 1921 "She feared naught but God". The birth date is wrong. Her partner (they never married but she took his name by deedpoll) commissioned it & allegedly sent the bill to her relatives who he felt had not supported her after she had his baby out of wedlock.
