New #Daggerheart class from my Patreon. Everybody seems obsessed with making Arcana / Codex happen, so this was my take. An arcane genius who uses Esoteric Knowledge to drop knowledge about important scenes and influence the battlefield through Tactical Advantages.

I ran a Daggerheart adventure this morning at Gen Con but didn’t bring any minis or terrain with me.

Pretzel sticks for terrain, animal crackers for monsters, chocolate candy for tokens, and play dough PCs are pretty much the same, right?

1st - Mass Effect

Single greatest Sci-fi IP in the world if you ask me. It's an incredible journey start to finish. An open galaxy that feels reactive and interesting. I genuinely think Mass Effect is a life changing series everyone should play through once.

2nd - Red Dead Redemption 2

RDR2 has the most satisfying survival mechanics I've ever seen, the kind of stuff you'd have to mod into a lesser game. The world feels alive and lived in, and I genuinely care about the connections Arthur makes with the people around him every time I play.

3rd - The Outlast Trials

The organic horror of Outlast Trials is so awesome. There aren't scripted scares, there's just you, your friends, an objective, and murderers. I love how much this game trusts you to sink or swim, how unrelenting it's higher difficulties are, and how great the dialog is.

4th - Cyberpunk: 2077

Some games I play for the challenge. Some games I play for the power trip. Cyberpunk is the best "power trip" game I've ever played. Night City is incredible, I never get tired of it. Exploring different builds is always so fun. I could play 2077 until 2077 and be content.

5th - Hunt: Showdown

The sound design and atmosphere of Hunt is incomparable. I've played this game for almost 7 years now and there is nothing else like it. Nothing that gives me the white knuckle adrenaline feeling that I get from close firefights in Hunt.

6th - Assassin's Creed: Black Flag

The open world is fantastic, the combat is fluid, the characters are fun. The worst parts are the first person segments you're forced to do, walking around a fake game studio. But hand on heart, I still know and sing some of the shanties in this game regularly.

7th - Secret of Mana

This game has aged poorly, even the remake isn't good, none of the sequels are great either. I don't blame you if you don't like it, but my grandma showed me this game on the SNES when I was a kid and it was my first exposure to fantasy and magic and "the heroes journey."

I imagine I would be the inverse and probably enjoy the game, but not painting the minis. I pictured myself hoping I'd find someone like you who wants to paint them but isn't invested in the game proper. I'm glad to know half of that hypothetical exists, but shocked at the reality of the other half.

idk why the thumbnail won't load correctly, I just woke up and I don't care to fix it. Just picture a stern looking samurai being stoic on horseback. Kinda side profile.
