What does the passage you're studying teach you about God - his attributes, his actions, what he loves, what he hates, what he commands, what he forbids...?
Notice it, then tell him about it: jenniepollock.com/bible-study-...
Today's Bible Study Tool is an aspect of Application, looking at one way to respond to what we learn in our study: jenniepollock.com/bible-study-...

And yes, the blog post is as poorly written as the Bluesky post (what are we calling them? Not tweets, but what...? Clouds? Sky drops? Anyway, that.) I can't seem to construct coherent sentences today!

A few reasons why it's important not to only study Bible on your own: jenniepollock.com/bible-study-...
Hello again! Ready for another Bible Study Tool? This week we're seeing how looking at biblical accounts in their context can open up more richness than just reading them alone. We've got examples from both Old and New Testaments. Check them out: jenniepollock.com/bible-study-...

16.06.2025 08:49 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This week's Bible Study Tool builds on the skill of curiosity. What might we discover if we start to notice and explore connections across the Bible?

We tend to think of the Bible as a collection of strange stories about strange people, and don't pay attention to things that should surprise us. Be more like Jane Bennett in your approach to Bible study: jenniepollock.com/bible-study-...

02.06.2025 09:27 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yes. But also, the people who are most reluctant to ask for help tend to be the ones who love to help others - why not return the favour and let them have the hot of helping you?

Post updated: How Can I Learn to Study the Bible?
I've added a bit of colour to my print-out, put in a preview of it, and added some sub-headings. Hopefully it's a bit more enticing now!
Look out for Monday's post, on the use of colour in Bible study.

04.04.2025 09:09 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Well. It's not so much that "men are outpacing women", as "women's attendance is dropping off faster than men's". From 47:38% to 27:30% since 2020. That's quite an astonishing drop in 4 years!
(This is US. UK figures are significantly lower still, and I don't know the male/female breakdown.)
Wow, that's interesting. I wonder whether male attendance has been increasing or female attendance declining. I'll have to look at the actual survey to find out.
