Six mysterious 'Twin Peaks' deaths in Balkan Mountains stir controversy Six unsolved deaths in two remote parts of the Balkan Mountains become a source of conspiracy across Bulgaria.

Ooh a ‘lodge’ caught ‘fire’ under cryptic and disturbing circumstances. It shits me when news outlets liken a real incident to fiction. “It was just like a movie.” Of course it fucking was! What do you think film is a reflection of? An abstract, alien void?

Bloody hell I’m slow on the uptake sometimes. I was just thinking about the film WANDA, and realised the significance of her name. Because she WANDERS.

Princess Mononoke (1997): The Endless Rage of Hayao Miyazaki A sense of warring duality is everywhere in Princess Mononoke: selfishness and altruism, nature and humanity, life and death.

“Rage may be the only sane reaction to humanity as a whole; if you cannot forgive it, Hayao Miyazaki agrees with you. But as long as you keep trying to live in peace, he’ll keep making art for you.”

Oh snap! Similarly, I had a Coke Zero, but it was out of my hands at the time. It's quite a caffeinated film, now I think about it...

I’m not even 30 mins into MALPERTUIS, but I had to stop and commemorate the day I saw Orson Welles receive a roast piglet and taxidermied rat on his death bed.

Harmony Korine Avoids Books, Doesn’t See Movies and Thinks AI Is the Art Form That Holds the Most Promise The provocateur director is feeling his artistic oats. It's just that the art isn't cinema.

Observations:
1. ‘Cat Astronauts’. MMELRD.
2. I’m sure he readsTerry Richardson coffee table books, though.
3. Artists who don’t consume the art of others are setting themselves up for failure; like those douchebags that say they ‘don’t watch tv’ like it gives them some kind of intellectual purity.

Bud Cort, Who Starred in 1971’s ‘Harold and Maude,’ Dies at 77

Many of the obituaries for the late an wildly talented Bud Cort mention his breakout role in Harold and Maude, and thst film’s director, the legendary Hal Ashby. But they forget to cite Colin Higgins. Who wrote it. Without whom: no Harold, no Maude.

1. They love DAISIES, so hopefully there's a drive to emulate.
2. I watched FASCINATION for the first time last night to finally see what the lady with the big scythe was about. Now THAT'S an image.
3. Love it.
4. Of course not!
5. Ah, gotcha.

I do. Doesn't have to be a big studio film. True, most big-name actors wouldn't be keen, but back then they had minuscule budgets & cast relative unknowns, which I'd prefer, anyway. Anna Biller is doing it. GenZs are into the Czech New Wave/Jean Rollin 'aesthetic' rn, so the A24 kids would be down.

Wuthering Heights review – Emerald Fennell’s adaptation is astonishingly bad Margot Robbie and Jacob Elordi’s performances are almost pushed to the border of pantomime, while Fennell’s provocations seem to define the poor as sexual deviants and the rich as clueless prudes

Saying she intended to make a film that reflected her misreading of the book at 14 seems like an excuse devised after the backlash. Still haven't seen it, but I feel as though she's just dressing up her desire to make erotica. I'd love to see a woman take on a style akin to Borowczyk or Franco.

This was planned. And Chris Minns owns it. - Michael West NSW Police have assaulted dozens of peace protestors who gathered to protest the visit by Israeli president Isaac Herzog to Australia.

one of the few outlets to publish an accurate account of NSW police brutality. Most media seem very confused by the fact that police blocked the exits and then police attacked people with pepper spray, fists, and steel cap boots.
