Royโs Great Map, the Military Survey of Scotland, held by the National Library of Scotland notes the location where the Jacobite sloop โLe Prince Charles Stuartโ was run aground in the Kyle of Tongue in 1746.
HMS Hazard had been captured at Montrose earlier in the year and returned with French gold

Unfortunately because of fog in the Channel many men of the 51st (Highland) Division and itโs attached units could not be rescued from St Valery
