That would be cool if the character writing was better. All this emotion is just humans projecting into the horses anyway, project more interesting and meaningful stuff.

Why do people buy games before they intend to actually start them. Sure there's the friction of installation that can cause you to get distracted, but if how do people let that happen over and over?

The biggest thing to get people to care about ocs is having them express character through the art. The successful ocs explain who they are without any words and open up the imagination and understanding of the viewer immediately and naturally just through expression pose and situation.
