Rights of Every Child on Instagram: "We had our very first Rights of Every Child virtual workshop with students in Turkey! A few 4th grade English and art classes are studying children’s rights and invited me to present and chat with them about the history of the UNCRC and rights and our project as inspiration for them to create their own art, following in the steps of the illustrators in our community!! The students were engaged, shared illuminating insights, and then created incredibly thoughtful artwork! All of it will be on our website soon, but here are a few to share here! Thank you to wonderful Berna ASLAN, the teacher who organized this and to the other educators: Annalise Nazlıca, Emily Blessinger, and Sarah Clarkson Spoors. And the kids!! What an honor to to have a space where kids can learn about rights, PARTICIPATE in them, and create with their own self-expression to carry the rights of every child forward! 🖍️⚽️🌈" 8 likes, 3 comments - rightsofeverychild on December 3, 2025: "We had our very first Rights of Every Child virtual workshop with students in Turkey! Rights of Every Child on Instagram: "Our most recent right was “Every child has a right to shelter,” and these children’s books all explore and support this right: where we live, losing a home from a wildfire, as a refugee fleeing, needing help to find one we can afford, or the one we dream about making as special as our families." 2 likes, 0 comments - rightsofeverychild on November 23, 2025: "Our most recent right was “Every child has a right to shelter,” and these children’s books all explore and support this right: where we live, losing a home from a wildfire, as a refugee fleeing, needing help to find one we can afford, or the one we dream about making as special as our families.".

Rights of Every Child on Instagram: "“Every child has a right to healthy food.” From the artist @sarahfinanillustration Sarah Finan: “All the rights of children are equally important. Having had the luxury of growing up in a safe, loving environment, it breaks my heart to think of children who are born into less fortunate situations. I chose the right to healthy food as I have recently written and illustrated a series of board books published about first foods so this jumped out at me. I draw my illustrations out in pencil, then hand paint everything, then scan everything in photoshop for greater control. I wanted to depict the children having fun as that is the most amazing thing about kids - whatever their circumstances they still find the ability to laugh and play.” [image description: children playing in a large bowl of colorful fruit.]" Artist Sarah Finan highlights the significance of healthy food for children, reflecting on her experience of creating a series of board books about first foods. She emphasizes the importance of laughter and play in children's lives, even in challenging circumstances, and showcases her illustration process through pencil, hand-painting, and photo editing.

Rights of Every Child on Instagram: "About the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and how we advocate around it via art with this project. The treaty contains 54 articles adhering to 4 general principles: • The right to life, survival, and development. • Equality and non-discrimination. • The right to be heard and to participate. The best interests of the child. All UN member countries have signed it. All have also ratified it except one: the US. What we do at @rightsofeverychild ? We gather and distill the UNCRC articles into simple rights. Each children’s book artist chooses one that speaks to them, that inspires them to create a piece to convey it in their own style, medium, and distinctly beautiful perspective. We share it here, our site, and our newsletter! And there are more ways we’re gearing up to spread the word soon, so I hope you’ll stay tuned." 1 likes, 0 comments - rightsofeverychild on November 11, 2025: "About the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child and how we advocate around it via art with this project. Rights of Every Child on Instagram: "“Every child has a right to protection from mental violence.” From the artist Reem Madooh @reemadooh: “I chose this right because the effects of isolation, rejection and especially bullying on children remain largely invisible, often glossed over by surrounding adults as ‘children being children’ or ‘empty forgettable words’ yet these hidden wounds can reshape the child’s entire life as they grow up. Feelings of neglect and humiliation should not be overlooked. These ‘empty’ words can stay with the person forever. And it’s up to the caregivers and educators to create a space where awareness around bullying and the ability to safely speak up is encouraged.“ [image description: a few elementary school girls wearing pink uniforms walking around a fountain, their teacher behind them. They’re in pairs and one walks alone. Two of them look at their reflection in the water, and one’s face is crying while on the outside she looks content.]" In this powerful video, artist Reem Madooh shares her thoughts on the importance of protecting children from mental violence. She emphasizes the need for caregivers and educators to create a safe space for children to speak up against bullying and mental violence. Madooh highlights the devastating effects of isolation, rejection, and bullying on a child's life, and provides practical tips on how to promote awareness and prevention.
