People love to ask "why do you have to bring politics into it?" when "it" is art, culture, labor, housing, health care, the cost of living, state violence and repression, tech surveillance, debt, and a convulsing empire where many people would rather draw knives on their neighbors than the emperor

Also worth nothing that HCA, the largest hospital system in the US (and, hence, largest private and for-profit system), is also headquartered in Nashville. This is happening in their backyard, so I have to imagine they're paying attention.

You may remember VUMC from such classics as "trying to cover up a patient death and then throwing a nurse under the bus when they got caught"

This is a huge development. VUMC is a HUGE system in Nashville, near-about 1,800 beds. Every other major hospital system in the country will be paying attention to this and potentially following suit unless the reasons compelling them not to outweigh the forces compelling them to do so.
