This strip was drawn last year, but I recolored it to celebrate the 53rd anniversary of Dik Browne’s Hägar the Horrible. Growing up, I knew little about my dad’s family, but an Ancestry DNA test confirmed Norwegian roots... and finally gave me an excuse for a Hägar gag.

Submitted for the ilustra.see competition last year. This was an experiment on depicting Paleontology with Wayang kulit, a traditional shadow puppet art form from my country. Here a scene reminiscent of my City, Surabaya's founding myth is depicted, but instead of a shark fighting a crocodile, it is a Permian Spiny shark fighting an early armored sea reptile. Surrounding them are brachiopods, tabulate corals, and horn corals found throughout Permian strata in Java and Timor, while the Gunungans in the back have a simple wavy pattern to indicate the scene is taking place underwater. The wayang cutouts are drawn in Photoshop, imported as transparent PNG objects in Blender and rendered in Cycles to achieve the shadow puppet look

During warm weather only hear the night insects and some night animals making noise for the most part. I will sometimes open the window some and listen to that. I'd imagine that compared to vehicle and just people noise IS relaxing to someone nt use to it

I live back in the woods, not a lot of noise here so its just what i'm use to. when i took care of my aunt and would stay at her home over night..I barely slept. noise from the road, the occasional train...neighbors ac/heatpump...all of it just would wake me up

I understand that..also prob for you its from all those years on the road too
