It doesn’t have to be good quality. Just a visible record of progress that I can revisit.

When I work digitally, at the sketch phase or unfinished, 2D or 3D, I’m going to try to print it. I had this thought that in all my years as an artist, my most valuable tool has been my sketchbook. It is an instant and easily visible record of progress. Unfinished art is lost in the digital world.

2021. I would like to revisit this piece in the future. I had this made into a print with spot UV gloss on specific areas and also the cardstock is layered with a red edge; very cool detail, but not really something that is noticeable.

A lot of respect to manga and comic artists. It’s a lot of work. I studied animation in college but I found I didn’t enjoy it. Too many drawings 😅 My interest changes quickly.

I want to say this was 2016, but I can’t remember. It’s one of my favorite pieces. This one was really fun to make. I scanned in watercolor textures and paper patterns.
