Went record and book shopping (four indie shops) today in Grand Rapids,
and bought some movies and buttons at the local horror store there (Alive Again). The sun shined. We walked around in the slush and loved the sound of all the snow finally melting. The sun. It was glorious.

Dunes Review Launch & Reading!
Sunday, February 15, 3:00 pm
The Dunes Review (Fall/Winter 2025, 29.2), our literary journal, has made its way to members, contributors, and patrons. Print journals are increasingly rare, but we think there is nothing like holding a print journal of good writing in your hands. A big thank you to all of our subscribers, patrons, and contributors for your ongoing support.
The Dunes Review 29.2 launch reading will be online, on Sunday, February 15, 2026, at 3:00 pm. We've found online readings to be the best way to gather during our Michigan winters, and we welcome you to join us.

Memphis is under a federal task force occupation that includes DEA, CBP, ICE, National Guard, state troopers, and (I’m not joking) IRS agents (IRS jackets kidnapping people). No national news.

It is really infuriating to see how misogyny really does unite men across the sociopolitical spectrum. And, in so far as the Epstein files go, they sort women into two categories: fuckable or irrelevant. When they near a hint of accountability they complain about not being able to make women prey.

One of my cats was staring out one the windows tonight. I peeked out to see what had his attention— a small deer in the snow staring back at him. It was magical.

Magics, Myths & Realities in the Mississippi Delta

Ryan Coogler's cinematic
masterpiece Sinners brought the history and mythology of the Mississippi Delta to life on the big screen through a celebration of Black culture as well as a critique of whiteness. In this multigenre panel, five writers will read from their respective works to highlight the myths, magic, and struggles, as well as celebrations of Black culture and critiques of the continuation of whiteness and its violence, within the landscape of the Mississippi Delta.

Doctors and nurses verify that ICE is lying about how the injuries were sustained. ICE intimidates the nurses inside the hospital. Brutality. No reforming this.
