People are NOT understanding what empty cargo ships from China means.

It means no work for dock workers. No work for truck drivers, no work for retailers, fewer dollars circulating. The cascade effect is just mind boggling.

It’s so weird seeing the Port of Seattle without any ships. I don’t see how we get out of this without a ton of supply shortages. Empty shelves are coming.

Amazon’s CEO contributed just 0.4% of his taxable pay to Social Security last year.

Meanwhile, Amazon’s median-paid worker contributed 6.2%.

Amazon's workers paid a 15x higher rate of their taxable income into Social Security than their CEO.

Scrap the cap.

We must remember to include messages about climate change/environmental issues on our signs when protesting locally as they’re getting lost among all the other horrors. Just one case-in-point:

I love to see it—universities across the country linking arms and saying hell no to Trump’s authoritarian assault on higher ed. An attack on one is an attack on all—and they’ll do whatever is necessary to defend each other.
