1. Expanding & Protecting Gender-Affirming Care Citywide Zohran will make sure every New Yorker has access to the medical treatment they need -- immediately investing $65 million in public providers & holding hospitals to account.

2. Making NYC an LGQBTQIA+ Sanctuary City No one should face persecution or be denied care on the basis of their identity. Zohran will strengthen and uphold the rights of queers and trans New Yorkers through multiple sanctuary protections.

3. Creating the NYC Office of LGBTQIA+ Affairs While Eric Adams left one person to manage all LGBTQIA+ city programs, Zohran will expand and centralize the services, programs, and support LGBTQIA+ New Yorkers across housing, employment, & more.

The arrest and detention of Mahmoud Khalil—a green card holder whose wife is eight months pregnant—is a blatant assault on the First Amendment and a sign of advancing authoritarianism under Trump. He must be released now.

On Thursday, Columbia issued a revised protocol for how students and school staff should handle agents from U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement seeking to enter private school property. The school said ICE agents without a judicial arrest warrant may be allowed to enter its private property in "exigent circumstances," which it did not specify.

UPDATE—Mahmoud's attorney says they do NOT know where he is.
They were first told he was sent to an ICE facility in Elizabeth, NJ. But when his 8-month-pregnant wife tried to visit him, she was told he's not there.
They've received reports he may be sent as far away as Louisiana.
