I think Speaker Johnson has a pretty strong motivation not to end the government shutdown.
Every House Republican representing a moderate district that fears getting ousted in 2026 is being told by their constituents to side with Democrats and impeach all of the high-level MAGA Cabinet members.

My feed will be a little light for the next few days while I am at the New York Comic Con (yea!), where my quest for the year is to go the entire show without yelling at one of the many actors hawking their books, "Stay in your lane!"

Who does the DNC think sides with them who currently has money and a secure job?! Seriously, the DNC has done a shit job of fighting for all Americans, but their donorbase... a decent chunk is currently furloughed.

I'm definitely not one to either speak for "all serious writers" or tell anyone else how to run their business, but I felt pretty confident telling someone here advertising their beta reading services that using an a.i.-generated image in their ad is probably driving serious writers away. #FuckAI
