Nebraska’s ABA rates attracted countless skilled providers and built one of the strongest ABA service environments in the nation.

It’s a shame that our state leaders don’t see the value in supporting this critical workforce. Kids in Nebraska will lose care because of this decision.

Today I’m reflecting on American values: freedom, equality, compassion, and opportunity - and the courage to stand up for them when they are under threat. 🇺🇸

Like many of you, I have been monitoring what has been happening nationally and the impact this has on Nebraskans.

I was proud to join a bipartisan group of colleagues this past week to encourage our federal delegation to ensure Nebraskans are not left behind.

Truly devastating. Americans need to get clear eyed about what we are facing in our country. Enough is enough.

My heart is with everyone in Minnesota.

Thanks to the Clerk’s office for this program that lets high schoolers experience being a state senator.

Bonus: I got to preside over their Select File debate!

Today I toured the Harriman Dispatch Center at @UPRR — a 24/7/365 operation keeping all trains, workers, and cargo moving safe throughout the country.

This incredible operation is right in downtown Omaha - inside a concrete and steel reinforced bunker! 🚂 Bonus: my guide was a high school friend!

Trans Nebraskans - please know there will always be people standing with you in this Legislature. This is a setback, but it is not the end of our fight. #NELeg

Late yesterday, LB 89 passed the final round of floor debate. We’ve all seen this tired playbook before: using one community as a political pawn to distract from lawmakers’ failure to solve actual issues facing our State.

Today the #NELeg failed to override Gov Pillen’s veto of LB319 – a bill to end the lifetime SNAP ban for people with drug felony convictions.

I’m particularly disappointed in the 6 colleagues who flipped, abandoning the Legislature’s independence and what’s best for Nebraskans.

Omaha: today is Election Day! 🗳️

If you have not yet voted, make sure you get to the polls today, and don’t forget your ID!

Reentry programs aren’t luxuries - they’re the backbone of a safer Nebraska and save taxpayer dollars in the long run. To slash these services now would be fiscally irresponsible and set our justice system back years.

❌ Mental health courts
❌ Veterans’ courts
❌ Transitional housing
❌ Juvenile services

These and more will be eliminated if the #NELeg passes the current draft of our state budget.

I’m a NO on LB89 because it continues to villainize a small group of vulnerable people who are looking for leaders to stand up for them, not put a target on their back.

I’m a YES on inviting my colleagues to wake up and pass the legislation that actually protects the next generation.

“Pro-women” and “pro-family” are phrases used often by my colleagues in the Legislature.

But the thing is, many of them are more interested in lip service than ACTUALLY passing bills that protect kids from predators like LB12.

Instead, their trans youth obsession continues…

👏👏 Good news! LB3 has failed a cloture vote and Nebraska will keep our split electoral vote structure.

I’m grateful to my colleagues who saw that our unique system benefits all three congressional districts and makes us a leader for the nation #NELeg

These are clear attacks on working Nebraskans - and we all know these policies won’t deliver economic benefits for our State.

My colleagues must rethink their priorities and trust Nebraskans’ decisions on ballot initiatives.

This year’s #NELeg platform is not living up to Nebraska standards. We’re seeing bills to set a subminimum wage, exclude workers from earning paid sick leave, and cut social services. (1/2)

If we establish Paid Sick Leave across the board, we’ll expand employment choice for Nebraskans who want to work for a small business.
