I'm not doing so well on my texting this week. Earlier, in a conversation about exchanging money for the use of a private boat slip, refered to myself as a "dick renter"

Lisa goes on to say that there is usually a drop in donations over the summertime, so the need is even greater. Please give blood if you can, or find another way to volunteer if that's what you're able to do.

Thanks for the update Lisa. Hadn't considered the impact of summer holidays on blood donation.

You can use the GiveBlood app to book an appointment, since the need will not go down after today. The survivors will need ongoing care and some will need multiple surgeries over weeks if not months or years. Make your appointment online or through the app today if you can.

Had a nice chat with Maddie from Canada Blood Services just now. As of writing (Sunday morning) all donation centres in the lower mainland are booked until at least May 7th. People are turning up and that makes me proud to be Canadian.
