there's no ideal solution since you really can't do much about publishers not sharing all their sales data includig digital, but maybe a separate chart that leaves out all digital sales and only considers physical copies could help bring another perspective.

then we have the games that have their ranking handicapped by limited digital sales data. i'm looking at this chart and wondering if something like dk bananza would take the top spot if digital sales were included, or how much higher mlb the show would be.

i don't expect circana to disclose these numbers, it's not like they forgot to paste them into the image, but the chart as is does not seem very interesting to me as a reader compared to something like famitsu's physical copy estimates for japan.
