Moldova can buy electricity from Romania, but the transfer is by Ukraine. If electricity network is bombed in Ukraine, Moldova can’t import electricity from Romania(EU), see map below. The problem for Moldova is that electricity plant in Transnistria supplies electricity to Moldova, the plant itself was(is) using gas. Moldova has poor network to be supplied by Romania, and can get only electricity from Ukraine. First interconnexion with Romania should be finished by end of 2025.
