Here is what would ACTUALLY happen:

- Dems would praise Trump
- Dems would lose the election anyway
- The Mark Cubans of the world would blame voters for not falling in line with the Dems' guaranteed election-winning strategy.

If complimenting Trump mitigated his damage, I might. As it is, there is tons of evidence to the contrary, so there is no reason to accept the premise of this very silly and bad-faith hypothetical.

The reason not to capitulate isn't (just) because it's morally abhorrent. It also doesn't work.

In another comment, you said the correct response is that people should vote for a better candidate in the primaries. I agree with that, but realize that mentioning that still pisses of his fans.

I'll stop using his name if search results are really the thing you're concerned about. But there are absolutely people who are defending him as someone they want to win in the general, and I don’t think those people should go unchallenged.

It's only a strawman if it's a false characterization of your position. If you're already promising to vote for Newsom in the general if he wins the primary, then which part of it is a false characterization?

Instead of "purity test", please be specific and say what you mean: that you want everyone to vote for a candidate who actively opposes trans rights.

What's dumb is to preemptively promise, years ahead of the election "I know you want to take away my rights, but don't worry Gavin, I'll still vote for you no matter what! ❤️❤️❤️❤️"

My strategy has been "doodle until I notice I'm struggling with something, then try to find a video or tutorial to help me with the thing I'm struggling with". In this case, I'm noticing trouble with feet.

Please stop saying "people who disagree with you on some issues" and start saying "people who vocally dehumanize trans people and homeless people", since you've explicitly admitted that is what you are okay with.

I notice you are attempting to abstract away the actual disagreement here by being vague about what we "disagree" with Newsom about.

Just be explicit and say what you mean: that you are fine with candidates who explicitly dehumanize trans people and homeless people.
