i keep poking my head back in here every so often, partly because this place is pretty good for news. the hard part is how that's both a good and bad thing

I want a politics that widens the circle to include everyone, not one that shrinks the circle by throwing *undesirables* under the bus. I think this is basic. I am interested in a politics that is rooted at the sources of people's suffering. I am interested in a politics that attends to basic needs.

this race happened 3 months after its original date bc of the wildfires, but now i can say i've officially run my second half marathon. just missed my sub-2hr goal, but still wound up with a 14 minute PR!

it's really interesting to see how folks speaking english w/ ʻōlelo mixed in in the prerecorded merrie monarch videos get translated into ʻōlelo subtitles. often the translation doesn't use the ʻōlelo word(s) the speaker used, which makes a lot of sense contextually but caught me off guard at first
